Yes, It is called 'The Telangana Niagara'. ( Google )
We actually visited the place twice. For sure the experience is not the same though.
The First Experience : (Sunday, 21st October' 2018)
As we recently moved back to Hyderabad from Pune, we were missing the weekend get-aways. While in Pune, we had many places to visit such as Hill stations, Forts, Beaches. My best friend then suggested that we go to this place called Bogatha Waterfalls and there started our planning.
We were a group of four people. We started at around 7:00 AM in the morning. We were hungry and were searching for a good breakfast place. We followed google maps and ended up near a building with no breakfast place. 😞
Our first place to visit was "Thousand Pillar Temple' in Hanmakonda. So after the experience above, we thought we will have something once we reach our destination. Google said we reached our destination, but we could not see any temple around. This one day google maps did not help us. ☹️
Later we saw a breakfast place while searching and thankfully it was great. Later we came out with happy tummies to search for the thousand pillar temple. One funny incident on that day was, we were actually revolving around the thousand pillar temple. There was kid who seems to be more than 12 years and when we asked her for directions she told us take 4 consecutive lefts and we came back to the same spot again (obviously it forms square) 😛 but, didn't see the girl this time.
Finally, after taking some manual navigation advice, we reached the temple. I went with high expectation after studying a lot about it in my Social studies and watching 'Varsham' (Tollywood movie). I was disappointed at the beginning, but later I felt lucky to witness the marvelous architecture. Each pillar is carved with so much detailing. The 'Nandi' opposite to the temple (approx. 6 feet in height) is for sure an attraction.
After Rudreshwara swamy darshan in the thousand pillar temple, we started to Bogatha Waterfall. It was a bright sunny day. A clear forest road with trees either side is definitely a refreshing view. We see monkeys cheering around and having food given by people on roads.
We reached the destination (This time thankfully google led us to right spot). We collected the ticket and parked the vehicle in parking area. We could see there is a canteen to order food. Also, some people brought home cooked food and others brought all things needed and started to cook there to enjoy their picnic.
From parking area, we need to walk to waterfalls (less than 1 kilometer). We even have a shuttle that goes to and fro, but we preferred to walk. While we are going towards the waterfalls, we see there are many two-three storied view points built. We reached the waterfall area and we could see a waterfall of around 30 feet height. Though there was not much flow, we can see people enjoying the water collected at the bottom of the waterfall. As it was a sunny day and as there is less water flowing, we were a bit disappointed.
From there we started to Laknavaram Lake. This lake is for sure an amazing tourist spot for its hanging bridge and a small island which has food stalls. The walk on hanging (suspension) bridge is one of a kind experience. From the island, we can purchase tickets for boating. As we almost reached during the closing time, we enjoyed sunset view and it was a picturesque scenery. The sunset view from the boat is an amazing experience for me.
The Second Experience : (Sunday, 04th August 2019)
After first trip we always wanted to go again during rainy season for best waterfall experience. This time also we covered the same places and also added Bhadrakali temple to the list. We were a group of five people. We started early in the morning, had breakfast in a stall on the way and reached Thousand pillar temple.
Later we went to Bogatha waterfall, this time we were awestruck by the view. Though nobody was allowed to enter into water this time due to heave water flow, we thoroughly enjoyed the view. The waterfall surrounded by lush green trees revived all our Pune memories.
Second visit to Laknavaram lake had a new hanging bridge as an addition. This time the place is crowded and we did not get a chance for boating, but thoroughly enjoyed the hanging bridge experience.
This time also the return journey in single lane road was the tough part. But I had my friend's help.
These trips are definitely refreshing. These trips always are like reset button. For sure mother nature has some magic which helps us rejuvenate. 🙌
Very well written...felt live and keeping both trips in a place is a very good idea I loved it. Really enjoyed reading
